Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a release.
Officers report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then located multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Officials report initial examinations show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials said they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the residents for details.
A high-ranking official commented the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed quickly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he wrote on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
